An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Editor to join an international integrated healthcare communications agency, based in South West London. Our client firmly believes that brand and corporate communications should be considered together to support business strategy at every level and with every stakeholder group to build reputation, awareness and trust in the organisation. They also believe that the marketing and communications mix should be integrated with the product development process early and consistently throughout a brand's life. The company’s core offerings are global PR programmes, media programmes, advocacy and stakeholder relations, Clinical Advisory boards, corporate communications and media and presentations skills training.
The successful Editor will be an experienced campaigner who holds a current editorial position involving editorial, coaching / training and administrative responsibilities, ideally within the healthcare comms arena. You will be expected to have a good understanding of the principles and practices of healthcare communications, with a focus on editorial aspects. The Editor will work directly with the Director of Editorial and Scientific Excellence to contribute to general quality control (QC) across the agency, publication planning/implementation across a number of key accounts, and generally, editorial best-practice across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent, preferably in a scientific/medical subject area; two to four years’ experience in healthcare communications, editorial or other relevant field; strong editing skills (as assessed at interview using the agency’s editing tests); strong understanding of scientific/medical concepts and ability to provide editing across a wide range of different therapeutic areas; knowledge/expertise of good publication practice and the principles and practices of healthcare communications: current events, trends and issues, and their impact on the industry, the agency and their clients; demonstrable ability to handle a variety of challenging assignments, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
