After a successful period and some more pitch wins this highly regarded boutique integrated healthcare advertising & communications agency with branding/strategy at the root of their foundation is seeking a Senior Medical Writer to work in their London offices to manage creation and validation of their scientific output.
Essential skills are a life-science degree minimum, Master’s degree or PhD a plus; 3-4 years’ experience working within a medical communications agency; can write scientific content across a range of activities, from the highly scientific to the strongly marketing (e.g. slide decks, detail aids, website content, training programmes); able to adapt writing style to suit different audiences; can combine product strategy with therapy area knowledge to create materials that exceed client expectations; the ability to work across multiple accounts and therapy areas at the same time; the ability to 'think beyond the brief’; enjoys working on creative programmes of work; can contribute to and attend new business pitches; and able to review projects for scientific accuracy and alignment with product strategy and client brief.
Your roles and responsibilities will be as follows:-
Create scientific content for a range of communication activities for the MedComms market, both promotional and educational, as lead or support writer; provide senior editorial advice and support to the team; ensure high editorial standards across all materials; keep up to date with developments in relevant therapy areas and the pharmaceutical industry; create reference packs, as required; liaise with designers and art-workers to generate layout of copy; provide onsite editorial support at congresses, advisory boards and standalone meetings; and take briefs directly from clients with minimal supervision
Act as main point of contact on matters of scientific content for the client and external experts and travel to client meetings (including overseas)
Input into development of budgets and timeline; adhere to project deadlines and budgets, flagging to the account team when a project may go out of scope; manage workload under the guidance of Scientific Director/Associate Scientific Director and raise resourcing issues when appropriate; assist in recruitment and encourage and contribute to team work and innovation.
