A really friendly award-winning healthcare communications agency in Farnham is looking for an experienced healthcare Project Manager to join its friendly, professional team.
The role of a Project Manager is for an experienced operator within the healthcare communications industry. The responsibilities of the role are front- line client liaison especially in writing, editing and proofreading. Your writing and editorial skill levels required are required to be of a really high standard ie you can check others’ work; you should be able to write extended outline/s for any project; in the absence of Project Director/Operations Director and you should be confident that you could check and send work to a client (even other people’s work). You should possess an understanding of the principles of the pharmaceutical industry’s codes of practice (eg ABPI). You must be able to lead a project and drive others (of all different levels) to achieve project goals, by delegating effectively and in good time. You must be able to create accurate timelines which meet the client needs with a high level of organisation, keep job bags up-to-date and have a highly accurate compiling of amends from all sources and checking they have been done. Other areas of expertise you will require are the ability to brief suppliers with all appropriate information; recognise whether costs are approximately right; a clear idea of the standards the agency is trying to achieve and understand where the difficulties might be for suppliers – particularly when things change in the scope of a project. You should understand the print and production processes intimately, including the most cost-effective solution and the ramifications of client requests in terms of cost.
You should have a life-science degree, be keen and willing to learn the job from the ground upwards, and live within easy commuting distance of Farnham, Surrey. We would really like people with writing experience gained in a med comms agency – but people who don’t want to be a writer full-time but who would enjoy the broader and more varied role that this client offers. So, writing and publications planning experience is a big advantage, but experience of working in a med comms agency is essential.
