    A healthcare communications agency based in Farnham is looking for a new Head of Research and Analytics, which is a key leadership role within the agency. With a focus on strategic and scientific counsel across the business, they work with clients to challenge and shape pharmaceutical scientific strategies of the future. The Head of Research and Analytics is expected to lead team members involved in research and analytics by example, having responsibility and accountability for delivery of consistently high-quality work. They are expected to own client relationships at a senior level, managing projects and programmes of work, most of the time without senior leadership intervention.

    One of the key responsibilities is do deliver wealth to the organisation, both personally selling and supporting delivery (partially through delegation) of work across a broad number of data driven offerings. The role also is expected to drive both organic and new business development and is responsible for actively growing the research and analytics department.

    The Head of Research and Analytics leads, coaches and mentors’ individuals across the organisation to understand the importance of data-led solutions and to ensure that there is a network of team members able to deliver the aspects of project delivery that fall within this remit. They have an established balance between business development, delivery of billed work and team management and support.

    The Head of Research and Analytics key areas of work can be best summarised as:

    • Builds the agency’s culture and capability through role-model leadership, delegation, mentoring and solid guidance on project delivery for data-driven solutions

    • Accountable to leadership for organic growth within the group alongside new business generation, with a strong emphasis on new business collaboration across divisions

    • Provides strategic-level input, expert scientific counsel and delivers innovative programmes with integrity, and leads scientific excellence and quality, through direction, guidance and training

    Technical Knowledge and Skills specifically are:-

    • Provides scientific counsel externally and internally, is recognized as an expert in research, analytics and data-driven solutions and is an external facing ambassador maximising opportunity to engage clients with high level scientific counsel

    • Understands the agency’s business in depth and the other divisions to a high enough standard that allows identification of opportunities for collaboration

    • Keeps up to date with specific therapy areas, landscape changes and scientific technologies

    • Demonstrates strong marketing thinking and understanding of the communication disciplines

    • Ability to develop and analyse competitor intelligence and understand its application for our client’s businesses, specialist services and individual brands and assets

    • Understands, can give counsel on and apply knowledge to client and internal discussions in the following areas:

    • Clinical trial processes, approval systems and EMA/FDA requirements

    • Statistics and their implication for study data interpretation and regulatory requirements

    • European 5 Healthcare systems and able to effectively research other healthcare systems

    • Market access including market drivers, drug uptake, pricing and reimbursement

    • Systems and requirements for patents for healthcare related intellectual property

    • Has a practical knowledge of Excel to an advanced level and able to manipulate and utilise the software to provide efficient programmes to assist with research and innovative solutions for clients Informs strategic decisions regarding account profitability and ‘fit’
