Social media and pharma â€“ What can you do?
There is a really good article online on the Pharma Marketing website - www.pmlive.com about the rules & regulations governing what can and can't be said or printed online, particularly on social media sites and pharma companies websites. On April 1st the UK's Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) published guidance on digital communications and social media which is the first set of guidelines that address this subject - even in the USA where you would have expected the rules to have been established some time ago, the FDA hasn't yet produced any firm guidelines and has missed another of it's self-imposed deadlines to do so: obviously they aren't finding the process of setting the rules very easy, and no wonder.
